ACCESS INFORMATION

Information about our venue

Our gallery space is located in a street level venue, with one step leading into the space, we are in the process of procurring a suitable ramp. Unfortunately the doorway does not meet the recommended width for easy wheelchair access, however we are in the proccess of making structural adjustments to fix this by the end of 2025. We apologise for this inconvenience.

As we aim to showcase a varied range of art, our venue can change significantly depending on what is on display: for example, the type of lighting, or the level of audio, may alter. EMBASSY does not currently have a heating system so we advice layering if attending during winter. EMBASSY will always provide a range of seating at any openings or events. We aim to provide a description of all known environmental factors for each exhibition or event at the venue in its promotion, but do get in contact with any accessibility questions you may specifically have.

We have one gender-neutral toilet. As our restroom is in a private area of the venue, donwstairs which is generally designated for workers, there is no clear signage to reach it. We are, of course, happy for our audience members to use the restroom upon request if required. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet and baby changing facilities located in Leith Community Library just opposite the gallery.

For our programme we produce specific accessibility notes for each individual project. For our current projects please view their individual project pages.

Alongside exhibitions in the gallery space itself, we seek to programme additional events both, online and offsite. We endeavour to make all our online material as accessible as possible: for instance, using closed-captioning or audio transcription. Using a trigger sensitive approach, we will provide content warnings for all sensitive works shown.
