The third Monday of every month has been labelled the most depressing day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It ordinarily falls on the third Monday of January and is calculated by looking at weather, debt levels, time passed since festive periods, failed resolutions, decreased motivational levels and a desire for action.

It is also the title of New Order’s 1983 hit single.

For seven years (2017-2024) Dexter Stokes-Mellor recorded themselves listening to this song every Monday which resulted in the film, ‘I listen to Blue Monday Every Monday’.
