MOVING IMAGE OPEN CALL - DEADLINE 28/11/25 00:00

We are delighted to announce an open call for the fourth edition of Biscuit Tin, EMBASSY Gallery’s annual artists moving image festival.

This year, the festival will take place over two days: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of December.

EMBASSY wants your abandoned experiments, unwatched works on your youtube channel, videos lying dormant on dusty USB sticks. Biscuit Tin provides a space to screen moving image artworks that have previously not found a place to be exhibited. The festival explores hidden areas of artist practice and research, the weird stuff you find rattling around in the biscuit tin instead of chocolate digestives. We can't wait to see your work!

BISCUIT TIN GUIDELINES:

This open call is for artists’ moving image work up to 20 minutes which has not previously been screened in a physical space. You are welcome to submit works that have previously been screened online. Applicants can be based anywhere and there is no minimum length for films. The selected artists will be paid a screening fee of £80.

There are no parameters on the date when the submitted work was completed and we encourage submissions of past work as well as new.

The screenings will be held at EMBASSY Gallery in Edinburgh on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of December. The works will also be shown online over the film festival's dates. All works will be Captioned by EMBASSY before their public presentation.
